Susan Middleman's art can be said to be a reflection of her youth. Her use of oil pastels and people have become her signature style. She works in large size paper and canvas.

Susan grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C.   Her travels from Washington D.C led her to Pittsburgh, PA to attend Carnegie Mellon University.  She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1965 when it was originally named Carnegie Tech.  Seeking further to diversify her background, Susan then attended George Washington University and the Cocoran, where she received her Masters of Fine Arts in 1968.

Susan then began the 25 year journey to exhibit her work in the D.C. area at the famed galleries such as Barbara Kornblatt and Franz Badaer.

Susan currently lives in Pennsylvania.
